The Joyful Path

“Success is measured by the amount of joy you feel.”
Esther Hicks

What do you stand for? What do you want to believe?

If “I am enough” and “I am important” and “I can achieve whatever I truly desire” are difficult ideas for you to see as your own truth, then there’s an opportunity to explore new possibilities for thinking.

As parents, teachers, and leaders, we can be limited by our fear of others’ opinions – the concept of stage fright can be daunting.

But counseling expands your insight and self-appreciation, and we measure “How do I feel now?” by your expanded sense of well-being.

What do you truly desire?

Let’s examine that for a moment.

As humans, we’re looking for an inner sense of connection with all parts of ourselves, as well as an inner sense of alignment with a wise mind.

We want to feel enthusiasm regarding our life experiences ahead and to experience loving and fulfilling relationships.

All these ultimately lead to a sense of worthiness.

“We know when we are connected with our inner Soul – it feels like peace and excitement!”
Michael Beckwith

And how do you get there?

I’ve taken a stand for JOY.

In spite of problems, challenges, difficult circumstances, loss, and tragedies, I know I can find my peace of mind and love it all anyway, no matter what.

Because I choose JOY, I can see your inner spark and visualize you as having all of the resources necessary to deal with your situation.

What if unconditional love for ourselves and others is what we’re here to learn?

My journey to joy

The birth of my second daughter.

Surely a joyous experience, yes? Joyous, perhaps. But overwhelming? Definitely.

She was very busy, into everything. Like finger-painting the TV screen with butter. And hosing down the patio screen – with the door open – drenching my bedroom carpet.

I found myself getting so angry at her – and feeling discouraged.

This was NOT the mom I meant to be…

So, I enrolled at the University of Santa Monica for a degree in Spiritual Psychology.

There, I processed repressed grief from my childhood. I learned to honor myself and to nurture my own inner child. I gained a sense of self-love and the ability to accept – to bless all of life’s experiences.

In the middle of my internal struggles with the youngest daughter, my oldest was marching in the High School Drumline.

I wrote this song during a High School football game, while awaiting her half-time marching band show.

As a proud parent, I enjoyed the bliss of watching my child play her instrument on the field; these performances always made My Heart Sing!

All Possibility

There are times in life when sadness can make the world look gray
The pain drowns out all the gladness and dims the light of day.
This broken-hearted feeling seems like it will stay
Shadowing the good times, and never go away.

At times the pain surrounds me, there’s darkness everywhere
The picture, bleak, confounds me, I’m drowning in my fear
But in the stillness of the dark, a little light I find
Ignited by a tiny spark, Love shines into my mind.

Then I hear an Inner Voice
That says I have a choice
A sound so easy to ignore,
The whispering of Wisdom I didn’t hear before
I can turn around and see
Life’s Beauty and its Mystery
I remember who I am
One with All and open to All Possibility
